I am very pleased with my blood pressure monitor. It is very simple to use and I can keep track of mine and my wife’s separately as there are 2 user settings. The simplicity in which I can get my BP is awesome and the digital readout is great!

Works absolutely fantastic. Every time I go to my doctors my blood pressure is high, I hate going to doctor and dentist offices and it shows with my STRESED OUT high readings. I took my new VIVE blood pressure unit with me to my last appointment. Again I was high, took a reading with my unit and it was the same as the doctors blood pressure machine. I then was able to show him my blood pressure over the last month and proved that my blood pressure is absolutely wonderful. Without the accuracy of my VIVE prescision unit I would probably be on blood pressure medication and really be hurting and possibly damaging my organs. Doctors aren’t gods and unfortunately we sometimes have to prove to them the truth in black and white before they actually believe us, the patient who has been living in the same body all of our life. I have not been compensated in any way for this review.

It’s easier than my manual pump. Its all over the place. I always do it 3 times to get an average. Today, Dr office BP 127/80….I took my device to the office. I took it 3 times in the exam room, it was in the 140’s….143, 144, 145…. So Dr says its too far off. How is it calibrated? Can it be recalibrated. Very disappointed. It is extremely important that it be accurate. Reviews? This one isn’t accurate.

Beware! There are two units of measure for blood pressure—mmHg and kPa. The Vive manual does not mention this and you could easily set it to measure in kPa units when you go through the difficult process of setting year, month, day, time, and measurement unit. Somehow, when I went through this process I inadvertently set it to measure in kPa units. The first time I used the machine, my pressure looked like it was over 200. I almost had a heart attack! Then I noticed that the number had a decimal point so it was really 20.0. (I was expecting a whole number.) I finally went back to the Vive manual and it said in tiny, tiny, tiny print that ‘mmHg was the U.S. standard’ but they never mentioned kPa and warned not to use it.

I set up the monitor and found there is a very important step to getting this unit to operate correctly. I use it at work in a clinic and therefore accurate readings are required. The unit showed extremely high readings on myself and my boss. We were laughing about how we we going to have strokes with the readings we were getting. My normal b/p is around 106/60 and I was getting 178/110. If this happens to you remove the batteries. Replace the batteries and go through the steps for setting the unit exactly like in the instruction book. It will allow you to re-set from the beginning. Make sure that when you get to page 8 in the instruction booklet, that you repeat steps 2 and 3 to SET THE UNIT. I did this and took my reading. It was 106/65 exactly like it should be. Just pull the batteries and re-set the unit from the beginning. Hope this helps.

Easy to read, beautifully designed, works perfectly. Have had it almost a year, and use it every day, nice cuff, quick and accurate, highly reccommended!

I would have actually given it 4.5 stars if I could, because I like it with a few asterisks. Overall, easy to use and easy to read. If two people use it, you can set the user so that it will average each user individually. It’s not a feature I would use, but kind of nice. Actually, in lieu of relying on the averages from the monitor, I use (and highly recommend) a free app called Blood Pressure My Diary which tracks your BP based on a number of criteria, such as time of day, position (sitting, horizontal, etc.), date entered, etc. Out of the box I was a bit skeptical with the quality of the readings. I mean, how often have you gone to the doctors office and got some strange reading, only to do it a few minutes later and get a totally different reading. That being said, I’ve tested the monitor back to back and the results are very close. And when I have gone to the doctors office shortly afterwards, I wasn’t surprised with the numbers. A number of people addressed the fact that it doesn’t work well on small/normal arms. I have a skinny arms but had no problems getting it to go around my arm. As far as those less than perfect asterisks:
*Battery that came with the unit died within a few weeks. The replacement battery has been working great after a few months of heavy usage.
*The face of the unit is plastic and scratches easily. Still readable. And ‘pretty’ is about the least of my worries.
*The Velcro is almost too good. It’s very hard to tear it off, and when reattaching, can want to bind before you are ready to close it. As a workaround, I now leave it in a circle that fits my arm tightly, but I can slip it off with a bit of work. That way, I avoid the Velcro struggle.
Overall, I would definitely recommend to a friend.

We have had this for almost 3 months and have been making medication adjustments based on its readings. We then noticed a 40 point difference between it and the monitors you find in grocery stores (the ones you sit at and put your arm into the builtin cuff.) And began questioning. Today we took it with us to the doctor’s office. Sure enough, it is 40 to 45 points high on both arms! Worthless. A big waste of money and honestly dangerous because the readings are so far off.

Update 10/19: The listing states a 2-year warranty, so I reached out to the seller. Great customer service thus far. They responded promptly with ‘Unfortunately, every once and awhile we have issues with this product. It is not extremely common but it is something we are working on improving.’ and have offered to send a replacement. I will update again once the replacement is tested thoroughly.

I am so sorry I waited to return this blood pressure monitor – it always measures extremely high compared to two others we have in the house – does not give accurate readings at all – its always way higher – for example if the other two in the house measure 122/70 – this machine will read 145/85 – its not even close – do not recommend at all – its a useless paperweight at this point since I can’t return it – 🙁
