I try to tell my doctor I have a V-12 engine for a heart and not some puny V-6, I was asked to monitor my BP. Apparently 200 over 130 is Bad or something and he wanted me admitted. It’s been like that for at least 10 years. I feel fine. But ok…

This puppy sends all the data to my iPhone in which I send to doctor from Apple’s Health App. We are getting it down to 160 over 105 but now I have to take some beta blockers or some such 🙂 (I’m not doctor and have no idea I was blocked from beta testing something)

Looking at some of you through this screen, you are just shaking your head… I SEE YOU! I’m working on it.

Due to recent health concerns, I needed to begin monitoring my blood pressure at home. I bought this monitor because of the good things I read about the product and the company. When I received the monitor, I tried it a few times the first day and it worked great. When I got the monitor out of the case the next day, it would not work. I contacted Greater Goods via email and they responded VERY quickly with suggestions to try. Unfortunately, the suggestions did not resolve the problem. I again notified Greater Goods and again they responded very quickly. The bottom line is I was able to replace the monitor with the same model and Greater Goods even offered me a discount. The new monitor is working great. I also love having the app on my phone that automatically records the readings and shows a chart over time. I highly recommend this product and this company to anyone considering buying a BP monitor. Great product, amazing customer service, and great company that really stands behind their products. I’m pretty happy about the whole experience.

Update: I also took the BP monitor to a doctor appointment and used it right after my blood pressure was taken by the nurse. The reading by this monitor was spot on, matched the reading taken by the nurse. I’m happy with the accuracy.

I treat patients with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and monitoring not only glucose levels but also blood pressure is an importance cornerstone of a treatment plan designed to limit the micro and macro vascular complications of diabetes. I bought this sphygmomanometer, (blood pressure monitor and cuff) to see how easy it would be for my patients to set-up and monitor their own BP levels at home, I could also use it as an adjunct in the office. When I received it from Amazon, it was very thoughtfully packaged with many references for home setup included. I downloaded the Balanced Health App and also integrated it with my own Apple Health. Everything is included in the package from the Vendor and set-up is very easy. There is also an A and B toggle switch for tracking different individual home measurements. I am also a big stickler for attention to detail particularly managing patients and even thoughtful accessories like an attached Velcro strip show great attention to ensuring user satisfaction. I took several readings and doing a comparative they were all within acceptable range of four measurement values. For those patients who I want to monitor at home or even as an adjunct for my office this will be my choice based upon ease of use, thoughtful design, accuracy and attention to detail.

Whether I receive antihypertensive medications or not hinged on this home device. I am a nurse in a hospital setting and was finding my BP elevated while at work. I bought this device to check if I am high at home also. I wanted to like the device but have really lost faith in it. I was very excited to see such normal blood pressures until I started to compare it to the devices we use daily on our patients.
This device was consistently 20 points lower no matter if it was used on a male or female. I don’t expect it to be a perfect match to a hospital device but 20 points is too much of a difference.

What a great product! I’m really glad that I purchased this, not so glad I needed to. You could feel the quality from the box it came in and the first thing I saw was a pretty blue foldout that said ‘HAPPINESS’ and noticed it had plenty of contact info and basic info. There is an adapter for wall power and they were even generous enough to include batteries (thanks!). Everything about the product feels well made and of quality materials. I put it together followed the screen prompts and checked my blood pressure without even reading the instructions. I then downloaded the app, followed the instructions and was connected through bluetooth with ease. I did a few tests (sorry arm) and it works great. I’m very thankful it came with a bag so I can keep it nice. I wouldn’t mind a smaller cuff but then I would be limited on who I could share it with. Overall I would say this is well worth the price paid especially in comparison to the others.

** Update: The batteries take a beating and keep on going. As far as accuracy goes, I tested myself, drove to the drug store and tested, came back and tested and the results were consistent.

Everything about this machine is great. It came packaged well, seems to be high quality and the Bluetooth works great. I love how integrates with Apple Health as well. Just two problems…it consistently gives readings that are waaaaay lower than actual BP. One example was that I got 117/69 with this machine and my other trusted device gave me 139/89. Multiple tests yielded the same results. Second problem is that the hose is just way to short. You must set the machine on your lap.

I’m afraid I’m going to have to return this. I would recommend investing in another BPM, despite how great the device looks and feels, and the seemingly great company that makes it.

I love that I can track my blood pressure on an app using Bluetooth. Also really appreciate that I can either use the power cord or batteries to operate! Easy to use & fits my larger than average arm with lots of room to spare. Great buy at a great price. My pic shows the irregular heartbeat indicator.
